The Museum of Mankind is not real

This exhibition is a parody of misogyny and oppression in interpretation of history, archaeology, and the museum world.

The museum of Mankind exhibition was originally displayed as pop-ups at the Science Museum and the Jewish Museum in 2019.

It was inspired by the work of the Museum of Dissent.

Museum of Mankind

On 1st April 4024, while doing some gardening, Guy Manson started noticing items in the soil that clearly were man-made and not of this time. He sought the expertise of the curators at the Museum of Mankind and a full archaeological dig was launched. Funded by the generous Thackler family, a number of interesting artefacts have been uncovered from the Plastic Age of 1900-2200 AD in the ancient city of ‘London’.

The Museum of Mankind is proud to display these objects that tell the story of life in the past once unknown, but now revealed

We didn’t make this name up to annoy you. From 1970-1997, the British Museum had a branch in Mayfair showcasing its ethnographic collection called ‘Museum of Mankind’; and in Paris today you can visit the Musee de l’homme (Museum of Man), an anthropology museum opened in 1987.

The Museum of Mankind is real after all
